Why SERVPRO®? We’re Certified! | SERVPRO® of East Lansing/Haslett

When you look for someone to restore your business after a fire, flood or other emergency event, you want to deal with professionals who are certified in their field. Electricians, plumbers and HVAC contractors have to undergo testing and licensing to stay in business—but who certifies cleaning and restoration companies?

In fact, SERVPRO locations and technicians have to obtain multiple certifications. That’s because our projects are so diverse and wide-ranging. Let’s look at some of the “certified” reasons you should partner with SERVPRO for commercial restoration services.

AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician). Our technicians obtain this certification from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), an international organization that promulgates ANSI-accredited industry standards. For this certification, we study mold and sewage remediation. Our firm is certified by IICRC, too.

ASD (Applied Structural Drying Technician). Also from the IICRC, this certification means we’ve proven we can safely dry and restore water-damaged buildings and their contents.

OSHA General/Construction Industry Training Program. Because we do so much work in and around damaged structures, our technicians learn the basics of construction industry safety in this Occupational Health and Safety Administration course.

RRRP (Lead-Based Paint Activities and Renovation). This EPA-based certification indicates that we can safely perform restorations in buildings that might contain lead paint. That’s usually those built before 1978. We have training to carefully follow these standards, especially when emergencies create unexpected lead exposure.

WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician). When our technicians obtain this entry-level IICRC certification, they understand the basics of water damage restoration, including containing and extracting the water that’s present, as well as mold removal procedures.

Whether you’re looking for a long-term disinfection service or need help restoring your property after an emergency, your SERVPRO team is ready to help. Contact us at any hour to see our exceptional service in action.
